Grandparents and Grandkids
Increasingly more grandparents are involved in looking after their grandchildren to enable parents to return to work without the huge childcare costs being incurred. Large busy toddler groups don’t always suit, as they can be a bit overwhelming and not many of similar ages attend. This group is affiliated with the Baptist church and was set up to enable our grandparents to enjoy their grandchildren in a place where the painting and glue and drinks and snacks, sand and toys were all over someone else’s carpet for a change!!and provide a less busy congested group to enable easier movement and conversation. Grandparents can really enjoy quality time with their grandchildren whilst at the same time meet other grandparents and sit and have a cuppa. We are within easy walking distance from St Austell town Centre and have free car parking available. We meet every Weds morning from 10 till 11.30am and the cost is £1 per adult and 50p per child over 6 months. We provide lots of craft activities and play equipment for you and your grandchildren to enjoy.

Teenage Parent Group
TAP is a group for young parents and parents to be who are under the age of 20 yrs. TAP is run by two of our young parents, Sophie and Sarah who understand and know how you feel when walking into a toddler group for the first time, they will make you feel very welcome and comfortable. We are situated very close to the centre of St Austell Town at the children and families centre next to the Baptist Church on Trinity street. We are well within easy walking distance for local residents.Quite often, young parents feel isolated an unsure about where they can go and meet other young parents and parents to be. Often fearful of judgemental looks and thoughts from other parents. It can be very daunting coming to a group for the first time, and takes confidence to step through the doors. We encourage mums who are pregnant to come along and meet others before their babies are born. This makes it so much easier to come after your babies are born as you would have already made some friends.TAP is affiliated with the Baptist church, and is overseen By Esther Baker the community Pastor for the children & Families Centre. TAP provide not just the practical, social and emotional needs of those that come, but is able to offer spiritual support from the pastoral team if requested. TAP is a place specific for young parents to come and chill out and meet others, it gives opportunities to play and have fun with your children, enjoy refreshments and craft plus lots of toys. We have a singing and story sessions that are very popular and this is great for parents to sit and have fun with their children. We also have a sensory room available throughout the session.

A co-ordinatated creche facility for 0-4yr olds for part of the Sunday morning service.
